Scott Allwave 23 Tube Radio, Tasman Cabinet WORKS
Scott Allwave 23 Tube Radio, Tasman Cabinet. It works great. It has 23 tubes. It has so much volume that you cannot turn it up more than 1/3 volume. It has 3 shortwave and the broadcast band. The case appears to have the original finish and is in very good condition. The chrome is typical for 75 year old Scotts--it has some pitting, especially in the choke can on the power supply, but overall the chrome is in good condition. See the pictures. It was made in 1935.
I have restored this radio. The speaker has been reconed. Most of the capacitors have been replaced ans some of the resistors. One knob is not original. The grill cloth has been replaced. 7 tubes were replaced including three 2A3 tubes. One coil was repaired. It works great on all 4 bands. I WILL HELP THE BUYER SECURE A FREIGHT COMPANY TO SHIP THE RADIO OR THE BUYER CAN PICK UP THE RADIO IN FORT WORTH, TX. I WILL DELIVER IT FREE WITHIN 100 MILES.
If you want a very high-end radio from the 30s it would be harder to find a better one to have.
