Marconi Wireless Crystal Detector c.1910
Marconi Wireless Crystal Detector c.1910. The base is about 2 1/2 by 5 inches. It is designed to hold good sized chunks of various crystals. Dr Tony Constable, the founder of the British Vintage Wireless Society, examined the detector. His view was that such detectors were used within the Marconi company for experimental purposes and to investigate the detecting properties of a range of crystaline materials. Arguably, they were also available to other experimenters embarking on such tests.
