WSA IP501 Wireless Specialty 1919 Radio
WSA IP501 Wireless Specialty One tube or outboard crystal radio. Louis Hazeltine first designed the SE1420 and its younger brother the IP501 wireless receiver. It can be operated by adding a crystal detector or using the built in one tube regenerative circuit. It was and is a great performer. The one pictured here works very well on a crystal or the one 201A tube; living in the city I only need 10-15 feet of wire laid across the floor to pick up a number stations; ad a long outside antenna in the evening and you will hear many stations. Isn't it something to be able to receive radio stations, including the broadcast band, using a radio that is 100 years old.
