Magnetic Radio Detector, American Marconi Wireless
Pictured is an American Marconi Magnetic Detector. Listed elsewhere is the more common English version of the magnetic detector or "maggie." Printed on the bottom of the drawer is the date it was made, September 26, 1912. There are differences in the American maggie: the hinged lid, the beveled glass top, the shape and number of magnets (2 vs 4 in the English version), and the inclusion of a drawer.
