Stone Vintage Radio Museum - Antique Radios, Wireless, Crystal Sets, Tubes, and Valves

The Hammarlund HQ-180 is a superb 18 tube shortwave radio first released in 1959. It is especially good at receiving single-sideband signals for a tube radio. After replacing the electrolytic caps, several other capacitors, and a few weak tubes I found that it worked, but not very well. Doing an alignment, with help from Larry Jeffers, the receiver really came alive. It is one of the finest receivers I have ever listened to. Not pictured is the matching speaker.
