| Aloe Tube & Crystal Radio | Aloe Tube & Crystal Radio. At first I thought it was a homebrew radio although it had a brass tag saying "Aloe, St. Louis." Since then a helpful radio collector found information on the Aloe. A.S. Aloe began in 1860 in St. Louis. Over the years it made surveying, surgical, and other items, one of which was radios. It appears that radio was more a side line and not much is known about the radios it made.
The tube and crystal receiver measures 9 X 7 X 8 inches. It comes in a beautiful quarter sawn oak case. The operator can choose between using a crystal detector or an 01A tube as a detector.
