Zenith 1R & 2M Battery Radio & 2 Tube Amplifier
Zenith 1R & 2M Battery Radio & 2 Tube Amplifier. The two people who founded Zenith, Mathews and Hassel, began making radios about 1920. Commander MacDonald soon joined the picture. In 1922 they began making the 1R receiver and the 2M two tube amplifier followed. The 1R is in very good working condition. The 1R is loaded with pot metal which was all bad. All pot metal parts were replaced and the radio is the best working regenerative receiver I have. It uses an 01A or 00A. The 2M is a good 2 tube amplifier with two good audios and uses two 01A tubes. Together they can drive a horn speaker with a good antenna.
