W T Forward Radio Transmitter From England. The spark transmitter pictured here was for ground to ground or ground to air communication during the early trench warfare in World War I or the Great War. Very few of these sets seem to have survived. A radio collecting friend of mine stated, "I have not seen one of these sold or bought since I started collecting forty years ago." The Mark III Short Wave Tuners of the same period are more commonly seen.
